Tom and Jamie Lambrecht

Great Northern 441 was created by Tom and Jamie Lambrecht, a couple who share a passion for locomotives. “I did the exterior and got it there,” Tom explained, “and Jamie did the interior.” They established Revelstoke Limited LLC to execute “my wild hairbrained idea,” as Tom called it.

Tom’s day job is General Director of Locomotives for BNSF Railway. When they met, Jamie was a machinist, wrenching locomotives at the BNSF diesel shop in Havre, Montana. We saw their son Ryan in the engineer’s seat and their daughter Gracie about to catch a snowball.

GN 441, Bill Christopher and Red Rocks

Bill Christopher is a long time friend of the Lambrecht clan who thought Great Northern 441 would be a great excuse to learn how to create websites. While he has had only a tiny peripheral role in bringing GN 441 to reality, he’s had a heck of a fun ride along the way. The ride might not have been as much fun for “Red Rocks,” his 1999 Jeep Cherokee with 265,000 miles; we drove her hard. (Photo copyright Phil Dohmen.)
